Personal Security Personal and portable security alarms are a perfect way to scare potential attackers as well as alert people in the area. Many personal alarms can be heard over a quarter of a mile away. There are two type of alarms. One is electronic, the other is an aerosol type similar to an air horn. Both are extremely easy to use and are very effective at disrupting attackers. At anywhere from 105 to 140 decibels, that sound alone will strain any eardrum in its path. Some models come with pull pins that are connected to the victim and activates when removed from their person, or there is button pressed alarms. The alarm is one step in deterring would be attackers. Add pepper spray and or a stun gun, and the assailant will be more shocked and surprised that you were. This is a must have item for teens college kids and older folks working late or living in areas that are not so safe.
