Slot Car track racing is a popular hobby Slot cars are miniature cars powered by a low-voltage electric motor. A small pin protrudes from the bottom of the motor to fit with in a guide slot on the race tracks. The hobby of slotcar racing has been around since 1912 and has continued to grow since than. This unique hobby is extensive in that many slot car enthusiasts create elaborate dioramas to show case their craft. Slot cars come in three common scales. 1/24, 1/32 and HO scale. There are other sizes, however, they are not as common. Slot cars are operated by a hand held controller used to regulate the speed of your racing slot cars. many people simply love to collect and race their friends and family, however, there are many local and national racing organizations that have a standard set of rules and regulations for each scale of cars. for 1/24, it is the True Scale Racing Federation (TSRF). For HO size, there is HOPRA (the HO Professional Racing Association) and UFHORA (the United Federation of HO Racers Association).
